Favourite Song - Blogging Contract #7

Blogging Contract Number 7, my favourite song!
This one was hard to do, I could barely chose. In the end I decided the song "Leave The Light On" By Tom Walker. I chose this song because it is a sad, slow song (I like those one's the best!) I can't really go into full detail about the song ( It's a bit mature), but basically it's about someone leaving the light on for a friend in need, were they can feel okay. I listen to this song on blast, and loop all the time!!!

A Piece Of Writing - Blogging Contract #6

Here is another blogging contract!!!
For writing we have been working on writing an exposition. For this exposition we were in groups and had to write about our point of view, Should students be allowed to bring cellphone to school? What do you think?

Should students be allowed to bring cellphones to school?

Cellphones are definitely NOT suitable in educational facilities!

Do you want your children to have square eyes and be tired and grumpy on a daily basis?

Cell Phones distract pupils from completing given work and following teachers’ rules and instructions as they are accordingly 

‘extremely addictive’. 

A phone is too small, too hard to operate and too hard to change settings to complete work on apps such as Google Drive.  

It is said that using your phone too often on a daily basis can make children (or even adults) grumpy and tired, easily. 

Studies show that children under the age of 13 are limited to around 2hrs of screen time per day. If they bought their phones to
school then the amount of screen time would be raised to about 6hrs per day. 

Using a phone throughout the day can simulate the brain and make it harder for kids to go to sleep. 

Cell Phones distract children from completing set tasks and following teachers’ rules and instructions as they are said to be
‘very addictive.’ Working on a phone will mean that you can not get Hapara because they are your personal device, not a school
one. Because there is no Hapara, children will stop their work and go on popular social media like Snapchat, Instagram, or Tic
Tok. Or very addictive games.  They would not be listening to what the teacher is saying as they will be busy texting their friends.
This is one reason why students should not be allowed cellphones at school. 

A phone is too small, too hard to operate and too hard to change settings to complete work on apps such as Google Drive,
where as a computer, chromebook or laptop has a much bigger screen. 

When using Google Slides on a cellphone, you cannot add or duplicate slides, so isn’t great for doing long essays/presentations
for school. 

Especially on (smaller) phones, it is harder to type using the phones’ keyboard so when writing long pieces it is easier to spell
words wrong and to complete work fast.  

In conclusion, we believe that students should NOT bring their cellphones to school as they can make the pupils very tired
and grumpy, they distract students from completing given work and listening to teachers rules and instructions and they are
too small, too hard to operate and too hard to change settings on apps such as Google Drive.

Weekend Sport - Blogging Contract #5

For this weeks blogging contract, I am doing Weekend Sport, What I do in the weekend!
Well first of all on Saturday I go down to the courts and play netball, I play for Cobden E. Our coach is Jenny and I think that she's a really good coach!
Then some Sundays we go over to Springfeild for the day (On the way to Christchurch) and dace over there, my dance teacher(s) live over there!
So those are all my weekend sports!

Blogging Contract - My Pets #4

This time for blogging contract, we had to do a post about our pets. I have about 23 pets (20 being chickens!) so here are my pets!!

Alfred 

Alfred is a dog. He is a collie, with not a lot of hair. He is very cute and is a sit at your feet kind of dog. He can be very timid and was the runt of the litter. When we got him his name was Bruce. His nick names are Alfie, Alf, and Alfredo. He is 1 year old, and is my dog. He sometimes works on the farm but is pretty useless at it!!

Shumba 

Shumba is a black cat. She is very old and thinks she is the queen of the house. She will come and sit on your lap and command you to pat her, if you don't you get some sharp claws in your leg. She is 13 years old. Her name is Shona for lion (Even though she looks nothing like a lion) Our nick names for her are, Shum, and puss.

Nilly

Nilly is a nanny goat. We found her scared at the side of the road with no other goats around. She is a very strong goat and it takes a while to move her. She doesn't like dogs so Alfie can't really go near her. She doesn't like dogs because our past dogs have teased her so she gets a bit grumpy. Nilly is 6 years old. She was named because when we got her she was really silly so we decided to have a name that rhymed with silly, and we got Nilly. 

The rest are chickens, they have no names and have no big story. (Sorry chickens!!!)

Nelson Dance Holiday. Blogging Contract #2

During the summer holidays, with some dance buddy's I went to Nelson for a dance school with the New Zealand Dance Company. The school lasted 5 day in which by the end we were dying from exhaustion. We had a lot of fun at the tuhuna holiday park, curled up in our sleeping bag hiding from sand flies that creeped though the cracks in the 50 year old tent! We went swimming ever day and always got a frozen coke from McDonalds!! We also spent a lot of time with my cousin Lucy, who has gone to Wellington to join the New zealand school of dance!! We had lots of fun in Nelson and I hope that it will become a annual Danzfit holiday!!!
